If you want to know whether ChatGPT recommends your brand, you need a ChatGPT rank tracker. The best ones do one job well: they ask ChatGPT the questions your buyers ask, on a schedule, and record whether you're named, where, and which sources ChatGPT cited. In this post I'll walk you through seven of them: what they cost, how many prompts you get, how often they check, and what else they track.

First, full disclosure: I make Presence Scout, one of the seven, so read this with that in mind. Every competitor figure comes from the vendor's own pricing page, which I read on 23 September 2026, and I link to each one.

What I'd look for in a ChatGPT tracker

Before you compare prices, here's what I'd check first.

  • It checks with web search on. When ChatGPT searches the web, its answers name current brands and cite pages. Ask your vendor whether checks run with search on, the way most of your buyers see ChatGPT.
  • It keeps the sources. Knowing which pages ChatGPT cited tells you where to get mentioned next. A yes or no alone doesn't.
  • It repeats checks. ChatGPT writes a new answer each time. One check is a snapshot; weekly or daily checks show a trend.
  • It names your competitors. The useful question isn't "are we named?" but "who is named instead of us?"
  • It covers the other engines you need. Your buyers also see Google AI Overviews, and maybe Perplexity or Gemini.

1. Presence Scout

This is the one I built. Starter is $29 a month (₹2,499 in India) for up to 50 prompts on ChatGPT, Perplexity, AI Overviews and AI Mode, plus 100 Google keywords and three brands. ChatGPT is checked with web search on, and each check keeps the full answer and the sources it cited. An action plan turns those sources into tasks. There's also a free plan with 5 prompts on ChatGPT and Google's AI answers.

I'd pick it if: you're a small team and want ChatGPT and Google rankings in one place. I made checks weekly by design: it shows you the trend and lets your plan cover more prompts.

2. Otterly.AI

Otterly.AI's Lite plan is $29 a month for 15 prompts checked daily on ChatGPT, AI Overviews, Perplexity and Copilot. It also tracks ChatGPT ads.

I'd pick it if: you want daily checks on a short list of prompts and don't need Google rankings.

3. Track My Visibility

Track My Visibility's Discover plan is $50 a month for 25 prompts on ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini, after a $5 seven-day trial.

I'd pick it if: Claude and Gemini matter to you as much as ChatGPT.

4. Peec AI

Peec AI's Starter plan is $95 a month for 50 prompts on three models you choose, checked daily. It adds AI referral traffic and bot crawl data from your site logs.

I'd pick it if: your team wants deep analytics and the budget stretches to $95.

5. Promptrack

Promptrack is €99 a month for 200 prompts a week on six engines, with unlimited brands and white-label client reports.

I'd pick it if: you're an agency tracking many clients.

6. Semrush

Semrush's Starter plan tracks 50 prompts daily, alongside 500 Google keywords.

I'd pick it if: you already pay for Semrush. Turn on its AI tracking before you buy anything else.

7. Profound

Profound offers a free seven-day trial of 50 prompts checked daily on ChatGPT, Gemini and AI Overviews, then custom pricing through a demo.

I'd pick it if: you're a large company with an enterprise budget.

How I'd choose, depending on you

  1. You're already on Semrush? Turn on its AI tracking first.
  2. You want daily ChatGPT data on a few prompts, cheaply? Otterly.AI.
  3. You want ChatGPT and Google rankings together, from $29? Presence Scout. That's who I built it for.
  4. You manage many client brands? Promptrack.

Whichever you trial, run the same five prompts in it and in ChatGPT yourself. My five-minute test for AI visibility tools shows how, and my guide to tracking your brand in ChatGPT covers which prompts to pick. Before any of it, check that ChatGPT's crawlers can read your site with the free AI crawler checker.

Frequently asked questions

Can you rank in ChatGPT like in Google?

Not in a fixed list. ChatGPT writes a new answer each time, so 'rank' means how often you are named, how early in the answer, and whether your site is cited as a source. Trackers measure that across many checks.

How many prompts should I track in ChatGPT?

Start with 20 to 50: the questions buyers ask when choosing a product like yours, plus a few comparisons with named competitors. Keep the list stable so week-to-week changes mean something.

Is checking ChatGPT by hand enough?

For a first look, yes. Answers change with wording, history and location, though, and a tracker runs the same prompts the same way every time, which is what makes a trend readable.
